Each candle and melt is hand poured in small batches using a luxury coconut soy wax blend that is among the more eco-friendly waxes out there! As the wax is produced from coconuts, it is a very sustainable material that does not support deforestation. It is made in the USA, and burns cleaner and longer than most wax types! The coconut is blended with soy wax to allow it to be firm enough to use in candles, but this blend does not contain any paraffin wax, which is also used for this purpose. All soy components in this wax come from US grown soybeans!

Each of our candles is made with love and care, and we hope they bring light and joy wherever they go! Please read the following instructions before burning yours!

Trim the wick to 1/4” before each burn (as needed--do not trim if the wick is 1/4" or less!) Do not burn unattended, or for longer than 4hrs at a time. Do not continue burning once the wax has reached 1/2” from the bottom of the jar. Make sure the candle is on a flat, fireproof surface and away from any curtains or flammable objects! Also, a note about these candles: because of the type of wax and wicks used, the melt pool will likely not reach the outer edges of the jar at first. As the candle burns down, more wax from the side will melt, as it burns hotter the further down it goes! 

To wash out and reuse your candle vessel, use a heat gun or very hot water to melt out the rest of the wax. Using a spoon or your fingers, peel the wick and wick sticker up from the bottom. After this, some warm soapy water should do the trick!

One of our passions here at Wishing Well Home Goods is sourcing these unique vessels (we find most of them in local spots here in West Virginia!) and giving them new life as candles. Each vessel comes with a history that we, unfortunately, must leave to our imaginations... But the good news is, YOU can continue your vessel's story by washing out and reusing it once the candle has  burned down! Use yours as a cute candy dish on your coffee table, an eye-catching pencil cup on your desk, a trinket or ring dish, a planter, or a unique drinking glass in your eclectic kitchen! The possibilities are endless, and we'd love to hear how You Choose to Reuse! 

Please note that as a vintage/preloved vessel, some of our unique containers may have small defects such as flea bites, crazing, small chips that do not affect the safety of the vessel, discolorations, etc. We try to take the most accurate pictures possible of our vessels. However, we often find multiples of each vessel, and in these cases we only use one container for the purpose of our listing photos.
